What kind of mission projects can we do?
Prayer Walking the streets of Ivanovo. We have a goal of covering the entire city in
prayer by walking every street by 2006 and praying for the families and businesses. We have about half of the city already
covered. We know that only by prayer can the city be reached and only through prayer can we best know where God is at work.
Time frame- Anytime from May to August. We are also looking to have a "Prayer Walk Around the Golden Ring" the first week
in October. This is a beautiful time of year when all of the birch trees are golden. There are several cities in our area
that are a part of the Golden Ring. We would prayer walk in a different city each day.
Market Evangelism in the local open markets. Most people do not buy their home wares
and clothes in a store but rather in the open markets. Thousands of people will come and go each day. Our plan is to conduct
evangelistic events (pantomime, puppet shows, music, magic, etc.) and present the gospel both in word and tracts. We also
wanted to use this place to give away NT Bibles. Anytime from May to August
Conduct ESL camp with students. The work in camps is very productive for reaching students.
We have worked in the camp the past two summers.
We want to provide an intensive language camp for students of English. They would live and interact for a week with English
speaking workers. Anytime from May to August.
Building/Remodel project. This is a project for a team that wants to help us reach people
by meeting real felt needs. The apartments of the retired are in horrible condition. We propose to go into a community where
we want to establish a new church and do remodeling in apartments. This would entail new windows, new toilet and sink and
new linoleum. The average home of a pensioner is about 400 square feet. We would also do some general fixing up of the play
area. Almost all apartment complexes are arranged in a large U so that the center forms a play area. The play areas are
in extremely bad shape.
Modernize play areas. This is a variation of the above project where the team remodels
the play areas for several apartments in an area we are working to sow gospel seeds for a church. FYI there are 100s of
these areas. Time frame- Anytime from May to August.
Business seminars. This is a project that we are doing to reach business men in Ivanovo
and surrounding oblasts.
